## Questions about pricing

### Is the purchase a subscription?

No. Pro is a one-time in-app purchase ($25), and BeamDisk for Business is a one-time $25 per Mac.

### Do I need an account?

No. Purchases go through your Apple Account.

### What happens when the trial ends?

Home use stays free, with one storage server and up to 2 disks, and you connect your disks yourself: Connect at login and the command-line tool are part of Pro. Business use needs Pro or BeamDisk for Business.

### What counts as business use?

Using BeamDisk for work, at a business or for paid work at home, needs Pro or BeamDisk for Business after the trial, one purchase per Mac. If BeamDisk is used for a company, for clients or for paid work, it's business use.

### How many Macs does one purchase cover?

For personal use, Pro covers your Macs on your Apple Account. For business use, each Mac needs its own purchase: Pro, or a copy of BeamDisk for Business.

### What's the difference between Pro and BeamDisk for Business?

Only how they're bought. Pro is an in-app purchase on an Apple Account. BeamDisk for Business is a separate app that organizations buy in volume through Apple Business Manager, since Apple doesn't sell in-app purchases that way. Both unlock the same features.

### How do organizations buy BeamDisk?

Through Apple Business Manager: buy BeamDisk for Business in volume and assign it to Macs with your MDM, like any App Store app.
