# Keyboard shortcuts

> BeamDisk's keyboard shortcuts in its window, its menus and the quick menu, and the keys its sheets answer to.

BeamDisk's menus (BeamDisk, Edit and Window) show in the menu bar while its window is in front.

## In the window

| Keys | Does |
|---|---|
| ⌘N | **Add Disk** |
| ⌘R | **Check for New Disks**, on a server's page |
| ⌘, | **Settings…** |
| ⌘W | Close the window |
| ⌘M | Minimize the window |
| ⌘H | **Hide BeamDisk** |
| ⌥⌘H | **Hide Others** |
| ⌘Q | **Quit BeamDisk**. Disks stay connected unless you chose otherwise in Settings → General. |

In text fields, ⌘Z, ⇧⌘Z, ⌘X, ⌘C, ⌘V and ⌘A undo, redo, cut, copy, paste and select all.

## In the quick menu

Right-click or Control-click BeamDisk in the menu bar, then:

## In sheets

Return chooses the highlighted button (**Find Disks**, **Add 2 Disks**, **Start Test**, **Format**, **Done**…), and Escape cancels or closes. A sheet that erases something, such as **Erase and Format** or **Take Over**, waits until you've typed the disk's name.
